Anatomic abnormality of jugular bulb has a variety of forms，the high jugular bulb is common. Its probability of occurrence is diversity due to different clinic standard of classification. Anatomic abnormality of jugular bulb can always be ignored in clinic since most of patients with high jugular bulb are asymptomatic. However，it is the most common vascular anomaly of the petrous temporal bone，and can be ignored to fatal hemorrhage during middle ear surgery、inner ear surgery and lateral cranial base operation. Its symptoms were changeable and can be covered by other diseases, so it is more important to review the symptoms、diagnosis、differential diagnosis and treatment of jugular bulb anomaly to increase physician understanding and reduce the occurrence of major clinic complications.
