Abstract:Spontaneous tonsil hemorrhage is relatively rare in clinical practice, with a complex and insidious etiology. The most common cause is local infection in the pharynx. Presently, there is no unified diagnostic standard, which mainly relies on clinical symptoms, signs, and laboratory tests to make judgments. The management is mainly based on the different causes and bleeding conditions, including etiological treatment, supportive treatment, and hemostatic treatment. If the above methods are ineffective, and coagulation system and hypertension are excluded, suture, tonsillectomy, external carotid artery ligation and selective arteriography and embolization should be decisively performed .
